April 7th Poem - Carnival Music

I usually write free verse but the following poem is a pantoum.

CARNIVAL MUSIC

When I was a girl
the square shaped man who ran
a ferris wheel
let me ride free.

The square shaped man who ran
from his mother to me
let me ride free.
I giggled inside the circle.

From his mother to me,
love was a hallucination.
I giggled inside the circle.
I knew nothing.

Love was a hallucination,
a ferris wheel.
I knew nothing
when I was a girl.
